After a recall late last year, GoPro has put it's Karma Drone back on sale saying the power failure problems have been resolved.

The Karma Drone was initially released in 2016 and was much anticipated as the next great GoPro product. While initial reviews were good, quickly Karma Drones started falling out of the sky, mid-flight, for no apparent reason. GoPro announced, soon after, that there was an issue with the Drone's power supply and the company issued a full recall of the product.

Now, just months later, GoPro says it has resolved the issue, and the drones are ready to take flight again. According to GoPro's blog announcing the re-launch the Karma Drone may look the same on the outside, but has had great improvement on the inside.

“Karma is the ultimate aerial, handheld and wearable stabilization solution for the GoPro community,” says GoPro Founder and CEO, Nick Woodman. “As the consumer drone market continues to grow, Karma delivers the most versatile solution at a very accessible price.”

Bad News, Good News

The old news mantra — if it bleeds, it leads has been replaced by if it’s gross, adios. The prospect of a news-free electorate is terrifying.

The news business is in trouble. In the past decade, more than 2400 local newspapers have closed. NBC Nightly News gets 5 million viewers per night, in a nation of 340 million people, so most people are not watching. What are they watching? Netflix.

For most of human history, people lived in a world without news. The concept simply did not exist. The idea of news is really a 19th-century phenomenon, driven first by newspapers, and then by electronic media which brought us radio, then TV and now the web. Now, it seems, we are headed back to a world without news. Not because the technology is not there, but rather because, increasingly, people are no longer interested in news, at least in the way it is packaged now.
