Huwei announced at Mobile World Conference 2017 (MWC) a new phone with camera lenses from Leica that hopes to challenge the iPhone for domination in the mobile photo and video world.

You will be forgiven if you have never heard of Huwei, a phone manufacturer in China, but they want you to know who they are now. The new phone, The P10, has a large 5.1 HD screen, but the real feature to be impressed by is the camera. The phone has front-facing and rear-facing lenses, both shoot in HD.  The rear-facing lens, developed by Leica, boasts a huge 20-megapixel monochrome sensor, a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and 8-megapixel Leica front camera.

Read all about the phone from The Daily Mail.

The world of television before cable had been limited to 3 networks and a handful of local TV stations. This morning, I went out early to buy my copy of the weekend FT — a great newspaper, by the way. I was a bit surprised to see that my regular newsstand, on 6th Avenue and 55th Street, had exactly 3 newspapers for sale — one copy of Baron’s and two copies of The New York Post. That was it. No FT, no NY Times, no Washington Post, no… nothing.
